Milo is not even qualified to coach a local team, sack him now-Osei Asibey

January 20, 2022

Charles Osei Asibey “The Barrister”, a Ghanaian broadcast journalist who is also the founder and current President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation and also doubles as the General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association has called for the immediate dismissal of coach Milovan Rajevac.

The experienced journalist is of the view that no serious country would allow the coach to keep his job following his abysmal performance at the ongoing 2022 AFCON.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he posited that the coach is not even qualified to coach a local league team in Ghana.

He said there was no need to even allow him to return to Ghana, and he should have been sacked right after his last group game against Comoros.

“The coach was asked to win the AFCON and qualify us to the World Cup but he has failed. He has to be sacked. We had already qualified when we were appointed and you were asked to win the cup but you have failed so why should we keep you as a coach?”

Charles Osei Asibey maintained that the coach lacked what it takes to continue managing the senior national team and there was no need for any evaluation before action is taken.

He said it was evident that the coach has failed, has nothing more to offer Ghanaians, and must be shown the exit.

“There was no need to waste time. He (coach) has failed, he has disappointed us and must be sacked immediately. The tactics he used for the tournament were poor. He is incompetent. He does not even deserve to be allowed to coach a local team. He must go,” he stressed.

When asked if the Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku could be blamed for describing the coach as someone who was tried and tested after he had been appointed, he said the “GFA President cannot be blamed. He had faith and confidence in the coach. But he has disappointed us. He was asked to win the AFCON but he has failed and must be sacked immediately. We do not have to waste time. This type of Milo is empty and he must be sacked,” he added.

Meanwhile, he has expressed confidence n the current team, adding, we must believe in them, invest in them and allow them to grow.

To him, the team has a future and we must allow them to grow.

He stated that Ghanaians had no confidence in the team and their early exit at the group stage was not surprising.

“The euphoria and the love around the team this season was low. Ghanaians did not expect the team to perform well. Ghanaians were not expecting the cup and that was what happened.”
