The member of Parliament for Asunafo North Constituency in the Ahafo region who doubles as the Deputy Sports Minister, Evans Opoku Bobie, has underscored the need for more investment into the league.
He says if we can invest in the league, it would generate more revenue for the country and make the league attractive.
The legislator was speaking to Rainbow Radio’s Worlanyo Wallace at the game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak over the weekend.
To him, if more money is invested in the local league, it will generate profit for the nation because the supporters came in their numbers to support their clubs.
He pleaded with Ghanaians to support the league so it will grow.
He said if these supporters are found at other venues a lot of income would be generated from the football so please let us support the local league to help make it better.
He commended the Asante Kotoko team saying, they played their best during the game.
He also hailed Denis Korsah of Accra Hearts of Oak and even requested for the management of the Black Stars to consider his call up to the national team.
He was hopeful the player can play better than some of the current players in the Black tars.
