Winifred Nti, a Ghanaian weightlifter who competes in the 45KG category and represents Ghana in international competitions has qualified for the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham.
However, the athlete may not be able to participate in the upcoming international tournament due to financial challenges.
Speaking to Enock Sarfo on Rainbow Sports, she expressed her happiness at qualifying.
But quickly added that she was faced with financial difficulties and that could affect her chances of participation.
According to her, she cannot even raise enough money for her transportation for her training sessions.
The weightlifter was worried the situation could affect her performance.
She has therefore called on corporate bodies who can help to support her.
