Ghanaian coach Eric Owusu Mensah has disclosed that referees have not been paid for their work since week 13.
He said although 26 weeks have been played, the referees have only been paid for 12 weeks.
He described the situation as terrible, and one that affects the quality of work they do.
In an interview on Total Sports Review, on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Eric Mensah fingered the GFA as a catalyst in the fallen standards of refereeing in Ghana.
”Referees are suffering. We have not been paid fully. We have only been paid for 12 weeks although we have worked for 26 weeks. Referees are struggling to survive. These are the challenges confronting referees,” he added.
”We are going through several challenges, but we cannot come public with them. Referees are suffering, and it is not easy for us.”
