The Minority will not stand down on our motion of censure seeking to remove the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, Leader Haruna Iddrisu has declared.
Haruna Iddrisu, speaking on the House floor on Tuesday, stated that his party will see the motion through to its conclusion and urged NPP MPs to join them.
“I will count on my colleagues opposite who have demonstrated publicly and I trust that they will not abandon same. I have between today and November to move the motion and I will move the motion for the censure of Ken Ofori-Atta. Those like-minded persons who will dance with us will be welcomed in the secret ballot,” he said.
In response, Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated that his party will continue to dialogue with NDC MPs in order to find a common ground on the issue.
“The Minority Leader is saying that he wants some assurance…it is a window of opportunity that he is creating. We are in dialogue, we are talking trying to see the best way forward,” Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said.
