Charles Adu Boahen, a former Minister of State in the Finance Ministry, has denied allegations of influence peddling.
The embattled former minister also denied allegations that he accepted bribes from investors in the name of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
An unscreened investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas allegedly captures Mr Adu Boahen, asking an investor to pay a $200,000 appearance fee to enable a meeting between him and the Vice President.
Mr Adu Boahen allegedly also told the undercover investor that he should promise the Vice President that he would hire some of his relatives in order to expedite his investment.
Mr Adu Boahen, on the other hand, stated in a statement that there was an attempt to entrap him in 2018 and that he is innocent of all allegations levelled against him.
He did, however, state that he will work with the appropriate authorities to conduct thorough investigations to prove his innocence.
