Ghana’s Cardinal Baawobr dead

Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr died on Sunday, November 27 in Rome.

He was the former Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wa, and Pope Francis I made him a Cardinal in May.

Father André-Léon Simonart, Secretary General of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers), revealed in an official communication that Cardinal Kuuia Baawobr was taken to Gemelli Hospital in an ambulance from Generalate at 5.45pm but was pronounced dead close to an hour later.

“May Richard rest in the peace of his Lord whom he so generously served,” the official communication said.
