Executive Secretary for the Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana (VCTU-G) has called on the government to make conscious efforts to invest more in Technical education in order to ensure its effectiveness.
Speaking in Tamale during the 5th delegates congress of the Technical University Senior Administrators’ Association of Ghana (TUSAAG), the Executive Secretary said it has become imperative to indicate to government in clear terms, that technical education is very expensive, and government should be ready to spend if it wants to reap its benefits.
He said “Technical is expensive, technical education needs clear planning, technical education should be holistic to be effective, the government has a responsibility and the government must live the responsibility irrespective of our economic difficulties”.
The Executive Secretary said the role of TUSAAG cannot be overemphasized and however implored the executives and its members to renew their minds, create a new mindset of a manager yearning for change.
“A manager in a hurry to impact, a manager determined to leave a good legacy for posterity this is our time, let us seize the moment to make a change for posterity.” He added
The congress was under the theme: Consolidating the Gains Made in Technical University Education; The Role of Administrators and Professionals, Management and Government.
