Firefighters from the Trade Fair Fire Station have successfully contained a severe vehicular fire at Nungua Buade, near the Accra Metro University, preventing what could have turned into a wider disaster for nearby properties.
The outbreak occurred on Monday, 27 July 2026, prompting a swift response from emergency crews following a distress call received at approximately 2:31 pm.
According to a report released by the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a crew was dispatched within a minute of receiving the alert.

The firefighters arrived at the scene at 2:53 pm to find the vehicle completely engulfed in flames.
Firefighting operations commenced immediately upon arrival.
Through quick tactics, the crew brought the raging blaze under control within five minutes, neutralizing the risk of the fire spreading to adjacent structures and securing the immediate area.

While the affected vehicle was completely gutted by the fire, authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway to determine what triggered the blaze.
