Although it has been reported that Nigerian TV producer, actress, and head cook at FoodbyHilda, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has broken the record for the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon, GWR says it was yet to verify and examine the evidence.
The chef has gone viral on social media in her bold attempt to break the world record.
She has embarked on a journey in cooking over 250 recipes in the four-day marathon.
The 27-year-old has been cooking for over 90 hours and is on her way to setting a new Guinness World Record.
She is cooking for four days and four nights to break the 87 hours, 45 minutes set by Chef Lata London in Rewa, India in 2019.
She has planned to reach a 96-hour target for her new record before leaving the kitchen.
However, GWR says it would have to examine the evidence before they can declare her as breaking the record.
This was after an individual tweeted asking if GWR was not following the chef and her exploits.
@AlexenderDGreat the Twitter user tweeted saying “Why is @GWR not showing or talking about Hilda’s cook-a-ton? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube)”.
In response GWR said “we’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”
