Some students at Holy Trinity Cathedral Senior High School (Hotcass) in the Odododiodio constituency of the greater Accra region have asked the government to assist them in repairing their school’s dilapidated classroom blocks.
The students claim that the dilapidated classrooms have a negative impact on teaching and learning.
Academic activities, they claim, come to a halt whenever it rains or the sun shines brightly.
Their request comes after the school’s teachers went on strike to express their concerns to the school’s administration and authorities.
The students demanded that Hon NII Lantey Vanderpui, a member of parliament, come to their aid as soon as possible.
The students raised their concerns when journalists visited the school and interacted with them.
”The school building is in disrepair. We are requesting that the authorities step in. When it rains, our classroom floods. The roofing is in disrepair, and the gas had an impact on teaching and leading.”
