The Western Region’s farming communities, Antiamoah, then Beposo Nkran, Daboase Junction, and Borkor Awuku Kope, are the communities that benefited from the initiative.

The residents’ primary source of water, the River Pra, has been rendered unsafe by mining activities, necessitating the installation of boreholes, according to the musician.

According to him, he became aware of the people’s plight while watching a documentary and decided to take action.

The award-winning musician and all of the foundation’s top executives, including his wife, Dr Louisa, were on the grounds to commission the boreholes alongside the chiefs and people of the communities.

“We as Ghanaians must help ourselves, so if the government is unwilling to carry out its responsibilities, it is up to the citizenry to do better,” he said.

According to him, the boreholes are not ordinary boreholes, but of high quality, with a focus on providing clean drinking water to the residents of the communities.

He stated that the investment in the boreholes was significant because he wanted to provide something that would not only last but also provide potable water.

”The illegal mining activities have affected all of us, but some have been more affected than others. Some people live closer to these bodies of water, and they are the most affected. I saw a need and stepped up to help. You [the media] have seen the boreholes’ quality. Even those with the necessary funds are unable to carry out such an endeavour. I’ve done it, and it’s something good.”

The chiefs, residents, and teachers in the areas praised him and stated that the project had solved a problem for them.
