Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, is demanding punishment against Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for awarding a US$48 million contract without authorisation from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).
According to the MP, the PPA has confirmed that the Minister did seek their approval.
This was after he had used the Right to Information and written to them inquiring about the situation.
He claims that the contract was “dubiously awarded to the same Nigerian cabal that has hijacked the Communications and Digitalization sector.”
According to him, former Electoral Commission boss Charlotte Osei was removed from office for procurement violations, while others are in prison for lesser procurement infractions.
As a result, he has demanded that the Minister be sanctioned.

As the Akufo-Addo government continues to persecute their political opponents, they are the ones committing real egregious crimes against the Ghanaian people.
In my latest exposé, I reveal how Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful shockingly awarded a US$48million contract without PPA approval.
The PPA confirms this blatant violation in their response to my RTI request as attached.
The contract was dubiously awarded to the same Nigerian cabal which has hijacked the Communications & Digitalization sector.
EC boss, Charlotte Osei was removed for procurement breaches; others are languishing in jail for far lesser procurement infractions.
Tomorrow is indeed pregnant.
More anon.
For God and Country.
