The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Chief of Aduamoa in the Ashanti Region.
The overlord of the Asante Kingdom destooled the chief due to his involvement in multiple unauthorised land sales and various acts of misconduct.
Details emerging indicate that the destooled chief was cautioned several times over a reported case of inappropriate behaviour.
The Asantehene said the chief’s actions have undermined the values and responsibilities associated with his position.
The overlord ordered the removal of the chief’s sandals to symbolise his removal from the throne.
“We have been walking and serving together since childhood, so you feel pampered to act anyhow. You have not been visiting your stool in Kotei to perform the necessary rites up until now. I was waiting for you to die, so today you have been destooled”, he said.
