A policeman in Tamale is in custody for allegedly stealing three motorbikes that were seized during an attack on the court by irate youth on Monday.
It will be recalled that there was a shooting incident on Monday morning when the police in Tamale clashed with the youth over drug-related activities and their subsequent arrests.
The court yesterday granted bail to the 13 suspects who were earlier arrested, and the police asked the motorcycle owners to come with the papers for their bikes.
One of the owners who went to the police station and did not find his motorcycle had a tracker on his motorcycle; hence, a tracking device took him to the room of the police officer.
He reported it to the police, who traced the motorcycle to the room and found three motorcycles.
The police officer has been arrested and is currently in custody.
