A 31-year-old level 300 student of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), Rita Annane, has allegedly committed suicide.
The student is said to have committed suicide Wednesday morning in her hostel at Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region.
The body has been conveyed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital mortuary while the investigation has commenced.
First-hand information indicated that the deceased is from Jaman North in the Bono Region.
Reporting from the scene, Rainbow Radio’s Oheneba Ademah said it remains unclear why the student committed suicide.
He narrated that the incident has shocked students and the management of the school.
When asked if the student left behind any suicide notes, the reporter answered in the negative.
