Chef Failatu Abdul Razak has drawn the curtains on her cookathon attempt with the hope of breaking the current record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.
After ten days of her attempt, she finally ended in 227 hours, representing 10 days of cooking.
She managed to cook 156 different meals for the period, with 2,864 plates served.
The chef also served plates of 450 to an orphanage, the homeless, and the underprivileged.
She has extended her gratitude to Ghanaians for their support.
“In the spirit of gratitude, I find myself overwhelmed by the results of the collective effort we’ve put forth. A brief breakdown of what we’ve accomplished from day 1 to day 10, this gives me maximum joy. Thank you all,” she said.
Meanwhile, The Guinness Book of Records says it is awaiting the evidence from the chef for verification.
The record is currently being held by Alan Fisher, the owner of an Irish restaurant.
He beat Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon.
Fisher cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes, shattering the record for the longest cooking marathon.
His achievement surpassed Baci’s previous record by almost twenty-four hours.
