Afua Asantewaa failed to break the longest singing marathon she attempted in December 2023, according to Guinness World Records.
This was contained in a statement issued by the GWR on X (formerly Twitter).
GWR added that although she failed to break the world record, they were hopeful she would make another attempt.
“We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans…We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempts,” they said.
Meanwhile, GWR has added that the money Afua Asantewaa’s team paid for a priority review has been refunded.
“The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, so we refunded her payment earlier this month,” the statement read.
Afua Asantewaa challenged herself to break the 2012 105-hour singing record in December 2023, completing a five-day singing marathon from midnight on December 24, 2023, to 7:00 am on December 29, 2023, resulting in a total of six hours and 55 minutes of singing.
