Mr. Bernard Aborkugya Mensah, the Municipal Chief Executive of Krachi East, has died after a year in office.
Details reaching Rainbowradioonline.com indicate that the MCE collapsed and died at a public function.
The MCE was delivering a speech at the Dambai College of Education Friday morning when he collapsed and was rushed to the Dambai Health Centre.
He was later referred to the Worawora Government Hospital for further treatment, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the Worawora Hospital.
Reporting the story on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Samali Abdul Razak said the wife also collapsed following the unfortunate incident.
However, she survived and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The MCE’s death has left the area’s residents devastated.
The incident left residents in shock, with some questioning the cause and the circumstances surrounding it, Samali added.
