The Electoral Commission (EC) has asked the Ghana Police Service to investigate the alleged bribery incident in the Ejisu by-election.
This was after the electoral body concluded preliminary investigations into the matter.
The EC withdrew two of its temporal staff who were allegedly caught on video accepting bribes during the Ejisu by-election.
The viral video captured an unidentified individual placing a white envelope on the table in front of the EC officials during the by-election in Ejisu.
The EC, after withdrawing the two officials, conducted a probe into the matter.

It has emerged that the contents of the envelope were given to the two officials for their launch by the man in the video.
The two have been identified as Regina Serwaa, ballot issuer, and George Sasu, presiding officer.
According to the EC, its investigations have revealed that the two officers were stationed at the Fumesua Pentecost Church Polling Station with Polling Station Code F311503 when the incident occurred.
The EC said the man who handed over a white envelope to the two walked to their table and inquired whether they had eaten.
He then placed the envelope on the table and asked them to use the contents of the envelope for their lunch, following which he walked away, as stated in the statement issued by Mr. Samuel Tetteh, the Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Operations.
The EC said in it’s statement that it “held preliminary discussions with the Ghana Police Service to kick start the process for criminal investigations into the matter”.
