Blakk Rasta, born Abubakar Ahmed, has described Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM 1, as a man with a good heart.
The multi-talented musician, poet, and radio presenter said that contrary to the to the perception that NAM 1 is a fraudster, the man has a good heart and is a good person.
Blakk Rasta, speaking with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, indicated that he never observed ‘azaar’ on the side of the CEO of the failed Menzgold Company because he paid the depositors on time until he had troubles with the state.
Appearing on the mid-morning show, Blakk Rasta said the panic withdrawals that hit the defunct company came along with challenges.
He prayed that NAM 1 would be able to deal with the issue and pay all the depositors who invested in the company, so he would be back on his feet again.
“He is a good man, and I pray he is able to pay everyone so he will be back on his feet.”
He disclosed that he received just three months of his salary while working with Zylofon FM because the troubles of the company started just three months after he joined the station.
He admitted that before the challenges of NAM 1 started, he was consistent with the payment of the salaries of all his workers.
“For so many months, our salaries were not coming. But we have to let go. We are happy to have worked for him. I was one of the last people employed to work for him before the issues started.
But I am grateful for the opportunity. I am grateful for the love. NAM 1 demonstrated love towards us. We also loved him. NAM 1 was a very good person. He was committed to paying people so the issues would be resolved. I never saw fraud on his part. He used to pay people their money until the issue with the state started. There were panic withdrawals. If you don’t know him, you will have a different perception of him,” he said.
He stated that the country has recently experienced an economic crisis in which our pensioners’ funds have been given a ‘haircut’. Assume you are an individual running a business and are faced with this situation.
“We are only praying that he can get back on his feet because if he does, a lot of other people would benefit again. He has a good heart. However, because you do not have your savings with him, people will never trust you when you say this.
He is a very good man, and I pray he is able to pay everybody. There is pressure; Ghana has even defaulted in paying its creditors, and so we should have patience with NAM 1; he will certainly pay everyone.”
