The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has asked residents, in its justification, to abide by the ban on drumming and noise-making, which begins today, May 6, 2024.
A statement issued by the AMA on May 3, 2024, said the reason to abide by the guidelines is to ensure peace, harmony, and national security.
It has therefore asked churches to refrain from using instruments and also organise all activities within their church premises.
According to the AMA, the positioning of loud speakers in churches, mosques, bars, pubs, and other places is prohibited during this period.
There is also a ban on all funeral activities until the ban on noise-making is lifted by the Ga Traditional Council.
