The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Foklex Media Production, the organisers of the Foklex Media Awards, Mr. Frank Owusu, has disclosed that some people have made attempts to bribe the organisers to declare them winners.

He disclosed this while speaking in an interview on the Away Bus Show on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM with host Dannyfii Abrantie.

He said the scheme, which is in its 13th year, has thrived on integrity, credibility, and transparency.

When asked if any nominees had attempted to bribe the organisers to declare them winners, he answered in the affirmative.

He also refuted assertions that the scheme has favourites and that the winners have already been determined.

He said those with the highest number of votes would be the winners on the night of the ceremony.

He jokingly declared that if someone wanted to bribe him, then the person would have to buy him either a luxurious house or a posh car before he would even consider such acts.

Meanwhile, he has indicated that he has been attacked for no reason, and some media personalities have not appreciated their efforts.

He further revealed that he has lost friends because he refused to hand over the award to them on a silver platter.

Nominees who could not garner any votes this year, he warned, will not be nominated again in subsequent award ceremonies.

Mr. Frank Owusu added that the ceremony, since its inception, has helped transform several practitioners.

He said the scheme has managed to help brighten the careers of most of the winners, with some of them gaining employment with well-established media firms both domestically and abroad.
