Ghanaian female gospel musician Philipa Baafi says she has no regrets about her husband being her manager.
The musician, who has over 20 years of experience in the music industry, stated that she considers her husband to be the best manager she has ever worked with.
Critics argue that musicians being managed by their spouses is a bad idea, but she believes it has been the best solution in her situation.
She said this in an interview with Sokoohemaa on the Midmorning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM.
According to her, “I have had the privilege to work with other managers, and I will state that my husband has turned out to be my best manager.
“My husband is the head of my management team. We have a management team, and he is the head. It works differently for everyone, but speaking for myself, it has worked for me. He heads the management team. He is not the sole one who takes the decision. It is a group that brainstorms and collectively arrives at a decision that is more appropriate.”
She stated that husband works and so he does not unveccessarily interfere with her ministry, and one of the things that have worked for them is that they have a sperate account for her music ministry, which the husband is not even a signatory to.
After comparing her experience with various managers, she chose her husband as her preferred candidate for the position of manager.
