The Electoral Commission (EC) has provided details of persons who have registered so far since the limited registration exercise started on May 7, 2024.

Per the details the electoral body has provided, 143,041 people have regrouped across all the regions.
The Ashanti Region leads with 25,558 eligible voters who have registered, followed by the Greater Accra Region with 17,837.

The 21-day exercise is being conducted in 785 electoral areas and 25 public universities in the country.
The EC seeks to register 623,000 new registrants for the exercise.

The EC registered 910,000 new registrants in 2023, which far exceeded the 723,000 target.

According to the EC, 3,277 officials, made up of permanent and temporary staff, are undertaking various roles in the voter registration exercise.

On day one of the exercise, the EC registered a total of 16,517 persons.
25,287 people were registered on the second day.
On days three and four, the EC registered 43,417 and 58,614 persons, respectively.
