The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has asked the Electoral Commission to expedite the release of the provisional voter’s register before the upcoming exhibition exercise.
The former president said the electoral body had already asked political parties to submit their external drives for the register back in July but had not sent them the register.
Mr. Mahama made the remarks during his final day of his campaign tour in the Volta Region.
“The exhibition of the register starts in four days. We should have received those provisional registers by now so that we can help our members check if their names are there. They have asked us to come today for the hard drives with the provisional register. I am calling on the Electoral Commission to make sure that we get the hard drives with the provisional register today so that we can send them to the constituencies and let our executives start helping our people to check and make sure their names are there.”
