President Akufo-Addo commissioned the Silver Jubilee Building at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
The project is in fulfilment of a promise he made during the university’s 25th-anniversary celebration in 2018.
The President explained that the three-story complex, designed to house lecture halls and offices, stands as a testament to his commitment to enhancing education in Ghana and underscores the government’s dedication to creating spaces that foster innovation and academic excellence.
He maintained that education is at the heart of his agenda, and significant investments have been made to ensure that every Ghanaian has access to quality education.
The No Guarantor Policy has removed financial barriers to tertiary education, allowing more students to pursue their academic dreams.
Additionally, the government’s support for research and academic development has provided the resources needed to drive national progress and innovation.
President Akufo-Addo urged all Ghanaians to support Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of Ghana.
He said Dr. Bawumia, alongside his running mate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has proven to be a competent, resourceful, and dedicated public servant.
President Akufo-Addo believes that under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, Ghana will continue to build on the solid foundations laid over the past years, driving our nation towards greater prosperity and inclusive development.
