The Ghana Grid Company LTD. (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have disclosed that due to a challenge at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant (GPP) at Atuabo, gas supply for power generation has been limited.
This was contained in a joint statement issued by the two companies following concerns raised by the public due to the intermittent interruption in power supply.
“We apologise unreservedly for the inconveniences caused to the public as a result of this challenge. Engineers from GNGC are currently working to address the issue and restore full supply of gas,” the statement said.
It added, “GRIDCo and ECG will continue to monitor the situation, which is expected to normalise once the issue at the plant is addressed,’’ the statement said.
