DBM and NPP are sponsoring fake polls since all reputable ones predict their defeat-MP

October 4, 2024
Bawumia-sad

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has supported assertions made by former President John Dramani Mahama that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has published fake polls because they’ve sensed defeat in the upcoming general elections.

The lawmaker stated that because the NPP discovered that all the credible polls have predicted victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NPP has sponsored the publication of fake polls from firms without any credibility.

He said while the NDC would not be complacent in light of the posture by Electoral Commissioner Jean Mensa, the NPP led by its presidential candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, must be called out for deceiving Ghanaians with concocted and fake polls.

Expressing his views in a post on X, formerly Twitter, Dr. Apaak said prior to the publication of Global InfoAnalytics and Fitch Solutions’ publication, the NPP led by its candidate ‘’paid 9 newspapers to publish the outcome of a cooked poll to hoodwink unsuspecting Ghanaians into believing that DMB was ahead of JDM’’.

Dr. Apaak went on to state that polls conducted by some state institutions, including the NIB, have all predicted defeat for the NPP considering their abysmal performance, which the Vice President cannot extricate himself from.

JDM is right in calling out the NPP for sponsoring and paying for the publicity of fake opinion polls. All credible polls have predicted an NDC victory.

While we are not and won’t be complacent in light of the posture, deed and conduct of the Jean Mensah EC, we must join in calling out the NPP/DMB camp for trying to deceive Ghanaians with concocted and fake polls.

A few days before InfoAnalytics and Fitch Solutions published and spoke to their recent polls, the DMB/NPP camp knowing that the poll numbers won’t favour them, preemptively paid 9 newspapers to publish the outcome of a cooked poll to hoodwink unsuspecting Ghanaians into believing that DMB was ahead of JDM.

An earlier cooked up poll purportedly conducted by a Director of Research at the Presidecy fictitiously predicted a run-off. The fake poll, said to be contained in a deliberately leaked report attributed to the said Director of Research, was given wide publicity by pro-NPP media outlets.

However, the truth, as confirmed by insider sources, is that internal polls conducted by the DMB/NPP camp, polls by NIB, and Blue Gate all put JDM/NDC ahead of DMB/NPP. The reason why all credible and legitimate polls, favour JDM/NDC, are self-evident. The abysmal and atrocious record of the current NPP government, from which DMB cannot extricate himself, will not and cannot be forgotten nor forgiven by Ghanaians.

Certainly the majority of Ghanaians, the true owners of this Republic, will not give NADAA/NPP a third term by voting for DMB/NPP to continue the current socio-economic and political ills they have inflicted on them: corruption, state capture, economic mismanagement, reckless borrowing, galamsey, high cost of living, high cedi to dollar ratio, high cost of fuel, high cost of utilities, killer taxes, amongst others.
