The Police have arrested the parents of Salifu Amoako, the minor who allegedly rammed into the vehicle of a family at East Legon over the weekend.
The police said it arrested the suspects, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, in connection with the accident.
Preliminary investigations into the matter the police said revealed that the minor, 16, was driving a Jaguar SUV with registration number GN 7801-20 with another occupant and rammed into the 4×4 Acura vehicle with registration number GR 2542-23 driven by Joseph Ackah and four other occupants.
The 4×4 Acura vehicle caught fire and burnt beyond recognition, with three of the occupants rescued while the two others were burnt to death.
The two have been identified as Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, both 12.
According to the Police, suspect driver and the occupant in the Jaguar were also rescued and are currently on admission at the hospital receiving treatment.
The police said the Bishop and his wife are currently in custody, assisting with an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has visited the bereaved family to commiserate with them.
The police further assured the public that it would conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and bring closure to the affected family.
