The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has suspended the Afetorfia of Muviefe Clan and Mankrado of Ho Bankoe, Togbe Afiatsoa III, with immediate effect.
The traditional ruler suspended Togbe Afiatsoa III, citing misconduct and gross insubordination.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
Togbe Afede expressed concern over Togbe Afiatsoa’s repeated actions and utterances.
According to him, the repeated actions and utterances of the chief were aimed at creating divisions within the Ho Bankoe community.
The statement disclosed that Togbe Afiatsoa has been removed from all chieftaincy-related activities and programmes within the Ho Traditional Area and Asogli until further notice.
Togbe Afiatsoa has been barred from representing Ho Bankoe or the Asogli State in any official capacity. The statement warned that any further misconduct or insubordination would lead to more severe consequences.
“The strong language you used during recent engagements with elders who disagreed with you is unacceptable and a cause for concern.
“It is completely inappropriate to refer to people, especially elders, as “thieves,” “liars” (didritorwo), or ‘corrupt’ simply because you believe their opinions are wrong. Also unacceptable are your threats of various actions and curses you have invoked.
“Your decision to absent yourself from the 2024 Asogli Te Za programmes from Thursday, October 3, to Sunday, October 6, 2024, is highly troubling. Of even greater concern were your efforts to prevent or discourage chiefs, queens and elders of your clan from attending some of these programmes,” part of the statement read.
