General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has told members of the party that the reset that former President John Dramani Mahama has promised should not only apply to the country but the umbrella family.
Speaking at the final rally organised by the party today, Thursday, December 5, ahead of Saturday’s general elections, at the Zurak Park in Madina, Greater Accra Region, he said Ghanaians are not giving them an opportunity to come back and repeat the nonsense of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Kwetey, the NDC, is being granted an opportunity to reset the country, but they should also set good examples.
He said the party under Mr. Mahama will not entertain the under-represented levels of corruption, mismanagement, and incompetence exhibited by the ruling NPP.
Mr. Fifi Kwetey stated that the upcoming elections are a fight to save the soul of Ghana, and if we fail in kicking the NPP out, it will further destroy the country.
‘’It is a fight for the very soul and survival and the future of our country. Power belongs to the people, and on Saturday, you the people must take the power to yourselves. And in John Dramani Mahama, you are bringing in someone who has the humility and the sensibilities to work for you and make sure we restore this country again. My final word is to the NDC. The rest of Ghana is not just about the taking over from the NPP. It is the reset of the NDC itself. NDC must understand that this is not business as usual. Ghana is not giving us an opportunity for us to come and do the nonsense that we are seeing over the last eight years. Charity must begin at home. And the NDC must be the first to set that example, and John Mahama, I am sure, will lead that crusade. NDC, you must not disappoint Ghana. Ghana NDC is the hope for you.”
