A former national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu, says it is not a problem if they lose the elections.
Although he expressed confidence that they will win the 2024 presidential election held on December 7, he stated that a defeat is not something strange.
Speaking to journalists on December 8, 2024, he said the party has lost an election before, and so, it would not be surprising for them to lose the 2024 general elections.
He said the party will go back and do an evaluation of what had gone wrong.
He and the other NPP representative at the EC’s strong room have left the room.
When asked why they were leaving, he said they were tired and were going to take some rest.
He also told the journalists that even if they don’t return, they will monitor the declaration by the EC.
“It’s two things. You either win or lose, and we have been in an election and lost before. So what is it? It is for us to retreat, go back, and look at what went wrong, do a postmortem, which is something we do.”
