President-elect John Dramani Mahama has revealed plans to inaugurate the committee responsible for his first 120-day social contract.
He explained that the committee will help in executing the 120-day social contract, which seeks to deliver key reforms and policies in the early stages of his administration.
He disclosed this when the leadership of the Apostolic Fathers paid a courtesy call on him.
“We have carefully selected the things that we thought were achievable in 120 days. So we are going to work diligently to ensure that at the end of the 120 days, we can check each of them off.
“I will soon inaugurate a committee focused on achieving these goals. Under this, we have Operation Recover All Loot.”
“We want to raise accountability to another level. It’s in our constitution that we should uphold the principles of probity and accountability, so it’s a constitutional obligation for us to do so.”
President-lect John Dramani Mahama has pledged to appoint members of his cabinet in the first 14 days of his administration.
He has also promised to run a lean government, implement a robust code of conduct and standards for all government officials, and initiate a national economic dialogue focused on fiscal consolidation.
The incoming administration has also promised to scrap nuisance taxes, including the E-Levy, COVID-19 levy, 10% betting levy, and emissions levy.
All these promises he says would be achieved in the first 120 days after assuming office.
