Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, founder of the Perez Chapel, says we no longer need leaders who will refuse to listen to the people when they have genuine concerns.
The man of God noted that we have in the past experienced leaders who refused to accept criticism or address concerns of the people.
He expressed worry that sometimes these leaders send people after their critics.
Delivering a sermon on December 31, 2024, at the Watch Night Service, he said we need leaders who would listen and not attack their critics.
To those who have been granted the opportunity to be in positions including the executive, legislature, judiciary, and business community, God is expecting us to act justly. to be merciful and walk humbly, he advised.
He said some of our leaders are arrogant, and when you advise them, they will get their followers to come after you.
He prayed and declared that in 2015, may God find leaders who will give a hearing ear to the things that God is saying and avoid being arrogant.
Archbishop Agyinasare went on to state that people have things to say, and yet, our leaders refuse to hear once they get into position and refuse to hear from the ground.
He also stated that when we embrace the word of God in our society, individuals will turn away from evil, including stealing, bearing false witness, and committing adultery, adding that it takes the word of God in our society to live righteously.
He quoted Psalm 33:12, saying, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.”
