Prez pledges support for Kantamanto traders fire victims, describing it as devastating

President Akufo-Addo says he is deeply saddened by the devastating fire that has destroyed several shops at Kantamanto.

Delivering his final state of the nation address on January 3, 2024, the outgoing president said it was sad the fire had left many traders and their livelihoods in ruins.

According to him, his prayers are with all those who have lost their livelihoods.

He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the hard-working traders who have lost their investments.

He assured them that the government stands with them.

He also promised them that the government, through the appropriate agencies, will investigate and ascertain the cause of the fire that destroyed over 100 shops.

He said the government will also provide the needed support to all the affected victims of the outbreak.

He stated that as a nation, we have to unite in solidarity in supporting those who have been affected by the outbreak and extend a helping hand during these challenging times.

“I am deeply saddened by the devastating fire at Kantamanto market. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and I extend heartfelt sympathies to the hardworking traders who have lost their goods and investments.”
