Member of Parliament for Builsa South and the one put in charge of the distribution of food items to the various senior high schools, Dr. Clement Apaak has warned persons who are stealing food items meant to be used by the schools.
The MP who served as spokesperson on education for President John Dramani Mahama’s campaign said such individuals would be severely punished.
He was reacting to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Ghana Education Service into the alleged theft of cartons of tin tomatoes by a taxi driver from the Tsito Senior High School.
Social media was awash with a viral video of a taxi driver loading the cartons of the tin tomato into his taxi.
It has emerged that the storekeeper of the school had loaded 100 extra cartons of the tin tomato together with another staff member of the Regional Free SHS Secretariat at the Mawuli School Distribution Centre.

They had gone there to collect the items for the various schools, but during the process, they overloaded extra boxes, which they later planned on distributing among themselves.
Further investigation is ongoing into the matter.
Reacting to this, Dr. Apaak warned that any individual caught stealing food items meant for the schools would be punished severely.
He stated that all food items meant for the schools must be delivered to them.
He stressed that no one would be allowed to fleece the systems since that will affect our students.
In a brief statement, he wrote “Let those who have been fleecing the system know that henceforth such conduct will be severely punished. Food meant to feed our wards must be fed to our wards. Anyone caught diverting food or trying to shortchange our students in any way will face the full weight of the law”.
