Benjamin Neequaye Kotey, the Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Klottey Korle Constituency, Accra, has expressed strong optimism that the constituency’s Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, will be nominated and be sworn in as the Minister of Health.
He was emphatic that the MP is beyond the position as a deputy minister as some have proposed.
Speaking with host Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said as someone who has been in parliament for three terms, she deserves the position as minister.
‘’I don’t agree with her being appointed as Deputy Minister. A three-time MP deserves a ministerial position. She is beyond the position as deputy. That is my personal view. President Mahama has realised some people are anxious, and so he has delayed in releasing the final list of appointees, but let’s wait till evening, and you will see that the MP has been appointed as the Minister of Health.
Mr. Kotey noted that the MP has distinguished herself, and’I promise you she will be appointed as the health minister. Let us remain patient. She will be Ghana’s health minister. I am not speculating. Let us wait till evening and see what will happen.
