President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Ransford Anertey Abbey as the acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
The appointment was formally announced in a letter dated January 21, 2025.
Signed by Executive Secretary Callistus Maham, the letter said the appointment is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 12(2) of the Ghana Cocoa Board Act, 1984 (P.N.D.C.L. 81).
“Dr. Abbey’s appointment is effective immediately and will remain in place pending the constitutionally required advice of the COCOBOD Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”
The President congratulated Dr. Abbey on his new role and wished him success.
