Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, has warned Hopeson Adorye to stay away from making commentary about Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
Madam Daniels noted that Hopeson Adorye and some others are on a mission of making unfounded claims against the IGP with the hope of having him removed.
She stated on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM that Hopeson Adorye does not have the moral right to suggest to President Mahama to sack the IGP.
‘’Hopeson Adorye should shut up and stop making unfounded claims against the IGP. He should just give up because his agenda to have the IGP removed will not materialise. He should shut up so we will concentrate on developing the country. They have realised the support base of the IGP is strong, and so they have started peddling lies against him to get him sacked. Ghanaians are wide awake and know that all these false accusations against the IGP are to get him removed. Ghanaians have become wiser and will not allow this to happen.
This level of jealousy and hatred against the IGP will not work. Ghanaians have come to appreciate the IGP for his unprecedented work. I am asking Adorye and his gang of liars to stay away from Dr. Dampare. We will not allow them to create problems for this government. If these people have gone for their bribes and money to peddle lies against him, they should stay away from the IGP, or we will descend on them.’’
Madam Daniels stated that a group of individuals attempted several times to force President Mahama to sack the IGP, and because they were unsuccessful, they began pushing an agenda through the media to get him removed.
She expressed confidence that President Mahama will maintain the IGP and ignore all lies, fabrications, and smear campaigns against him.
She urged him to consider Ghanaians’ interests and retain him, citing the Police Service’s unprecedented transformation under his leadership.
