AG using the media to persecute previous gov’t appointees because he cannot win any cases in court – PNP Chair

April 2, 2025
naba

National Chairman of the People’s National Party (PNP), Madam Janet Nablah, has declared that Attorney General and Minister of Justice Dr Dominic Ayine will not win a single case of alleged corruption it has accused former appointees of the previous government of engaging in.

The female politician opined that the current government is not fighting crimes but clearing individuals who were facing serious charges over their alleged involvement in corruption.

Madam Nablah stated that the current administration is persecuting its opponents instead of acting in accordance with the law.

According to her, if the government had evidence of any wrongdoing, it should go to court and prosecute the offenders instead of raiding their homes.

Madam Nablah was emphatic that the Attorney General does not have what it takes to prosecute any former appointee of former President Akufo-Addo.

“You cannot claim to fight corruption by putting on political lenses by going after only your political opponents. It is only a competent court of justification that can clear anyone of any crime, but the Attorney General organised a press conference justifying why he cleared some individuals who were being prosecuted for corruption. The Attorney General is not interested in fighting corruption. He should have allowed these cases to travel to their logical conclusions.

So if you have cleared them, how can you have the courage to prosecute others? You don’t have the moral right to speak about corruption because you, the NDC and NPP, are both corrupt. The Attorney General cannot win any court case. I dare him to go to court if he can win any court case. He cannot win any single case. They have no competent lawyers to go to court and prosecute alleged corrupt personalities. They are only engaging in the media gymnastics because they lack what it takes to win any single court case.”

To her, the NDC government came into government to persecute its political opponents and not to fight corruption.

The NDC came into power not to fight corruption or help Ghanaians but to punish political opponents. It’s pure wickedness, and we will not allow them to engage in this lawlessness. If you think someone has committed any offence, drag the person before a competent court of jurisdiction and prosecute them. If we have observed that you want to replace our constitutional regime with a military regime, Ghanaians will not entertain that.’’
