The Ghana Grid Company and the Electricity Company of Ghana have jointly issued a statement informing the Ghanaian public that a system disturbance has caused power loss to some customers.
The disturbance, the statement revealed, occurred on Thursday, May 1, 2025, around 1:42 pm when a tipper truck discharging stones at a private developer’s site damaged the Nkawkaw-Konongo Transmission Line.
Following the incident, the situation caused all the power plants at Aboadze and Awomaso to trip.
The situation has taken off supply to the Western, Central, and Northern parts of the country.
The two institutions assured the public that engineers have been mobilized to the location to repair the damaged transmission line.
