The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the establishment of its Patriotic Institute.
Documents released by the party revealed that the mission of the institute is to nurture a generation of leaders and party faithful who
Possess a sound understanding of the NPP’s history, ideology, and constitution; demonstrate a deep commitment to ethical and strategic leadership; excel in communication and political messaging; are skilled in campaign strategy and grassroots mobilisation; and understand the governance architecture and policy direction of the party.
According to the party, a comprehensive curriculum that spans both mandatory and specialised tracks.
It will cover courses curated by a team of in-house and external experts, drawing on insights from political science, governance, law, communications, and election research.
Participants would be taken through in-person workshops and retreats, online courses and mobile learning portals and mentorship and leadership exchange programmes.
The party further disclosed that participation in the mandatory foundational programme will be a prerequisite for all party officers.
Part members with an interest in contesting or holding any position internally are expected to take part in the mandatory course.
Additionally, the party has designed specialised training for all wings of the elephant family, campaign teams at all levels, the diaspora party, party communicators, and all appointees when the party is in government.
The party seeks some strategic outcomes from the establishment of the institute, which are to strengthen the NPP’s grassroots, improve electoral readiness of the party, build principled, informed, and loyal patriots, and institutionalise party discipline, message unity, and ideological clarity.
The Institute has been described by the NPP as a bold and strategic investment in the future of the party.
‘’It is not only a school of ideas but a forge for the party’s next generation of thinkers, leaders, communicators, and campaigners,’’ the document about the schools said.
