In a remarkable display of academic excellence, Dansoman 2 Basic School has emerged in first place in an inter-schools reading quiz competition, beating several top-tier schools, including the highly rated AlphaBeta International School.
The victorious team, made up of Lawrence Andor, Nancy Avortrie, and Reginald Lamptey, proudly represented Ablekuma West and brought home a historic win — the first time a public school has outperformed AlphaBeta, a long-standing private school known for its academic dominance in the constituency.
The team was led by the dedicated head teacher, Mr Emmanuel Bachuri, with coaching support from teachers Ruth Yamoah and Jasmine Haygan, whose mentorship and commitment were instrumental in preparing the students.
This milestone achievement has drawn commendation from the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Rev. Dr Kweku Addo, who congratulated the students and staff for their outstanding performance.
“This victory is not just for Dansoman 2 Basic School — it is a victory for all of Ablekuma West. It proves that with the right guidance and belief, our public schools can compete and win at the highest level,” the MP stated.
This achievement, according to the MP, was a step forward in the constituency’s push for educational excellence and serves as a powerful inspiration for other public schools across the municipality.
