The Paramount Chief of the Manste Ankrah Royal Family, Otubluhum Dadebana Naa, Nii Adjabeng Ankrah II, has issued a warm invitation to the royal family’s diaspora and those at home to reunite and contribute to the development and unification of their homeland.
The traditional leader emphasised the importance of putting past differences aside and leveraging the upcoming Homowo festival as an opportunity for reconciliation and return.
He stressed that collective strength lies in unity, and therefore, it is crucial for them to focus on the future, which promises auspicious developments, rather than dwelling on past conflicts.
He stated that “there is the need for unity. We have to unite and stop attacking each other. We do not have to spew falsehoods or lies against each other. Unity breeds strength, togetherness and, most importantly, a strong front against adversaries. Therefore, I want to encourage all those who are far and near to return home and let us all unite and build this family together’’.
Nii Adjabeng Ankrah II made the remarks while addressing the media after leading the family in organising the second Ahuba ceremony, a spiritual rite held in preparation for the Odadaa festival, which marks the removal of restrictions on drumming and noise-making prior to the annual Homowo festival.
“For some time now, we have not heard about the family, but today, the Supreme Leader, along with his elders, has mobilised the people to celebrate this spiritual journey. I am extending a hand to every indigene who recognises himself as a member of the family and wishes to return home and contribute to its transformation. We are appealing to them to return home and join us in transforming the royal family. The backbiting and spreading of lies against one another must stop. Unity is paramount, and as members of the royal family, we must contribute to its development, so let us return home,” he added.
