Member of Parliament for Hemang Lower Denkyira, Hon. Lawrence Agyinsam, has made a passionate plea for educational reform in Ghana.
Speaking in Parliament, Hon. Agyinsam emphasised the need for practical skills training to tackle unemployment and national security concerns.
According to the MP, the education system should focus on three key areas: encouraging entrepreneurship, providing support systems like incubation programmes, and prioritising strategic sectors such as agribusiness, IT, and food processing.
Hon. Agyinsam stressed the need for intentional curriculum changes that promote entrepreneurship, enabling students to develop business ideas and turn them into reality.
He also advocated for the establishment of incubation and aspiration programmes to provide students with the necessary support and guidance to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavours.
The legislator called on the Minister of Education to provide a clear timeline for implementing these reforms, citing their critical importance to Ghana’s development and security.
