The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has expressed disappointment in the decision by the family of the party’s Chairman, Stephen Ntim, to issue a public statement asking the party to excuse him due to his ill health.
He described it as needless, since the party already has structures in place to deal with the absence of the Chairman.
The response from the party’s General Secretary was in reaction to a statement from the family of Mr. Ntim, asking the party to excuse him from all activities due to his ill health.
According to the family, Mr. Ntim cannot attend any party meetings at the moment due to his physical health condition.
Speaking in an interview in response to the letter, the General Secretary said the fact that our Chairman is not available does not mean the party cannot operate, because in the party’s constitution, there are rules of leadership such that they know who takes the position when the Chairman is not available.
“So, there is always somebody available to make sure that everything goes on perfectly at the party, so why should we have to come out with a letter of his absence? There is no need for that.”
