The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ordered causes and associations of former and present executives, as well as former appointees, to stop holding meetings with personalities who have declared their intentions to contest for the presidential primary in the party.
The directive was issued by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong in an official statement.
According to him, the party took the decision at a National Steering Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
“Directs the immediate cessation of all caucuses or associations of present and former party executives/government appointees holding meetings with presidential aspirants in breach of party regulations,” the statement read.
He announced that the party will meet with all individuals who have declared their intentions in the presidential primary on July 3, 2025.
The statement indicated that the meeting will, among other topics, discuss issues of mutual interest.

The meeting, which is expected to discuss matters of mutual interest, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025.”
The NPP further reminded members that they have a constitutional obligation to protect party unity, especially in public.
