Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Chapter, Mr Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, commonly referred to as Wofa K, has expressed his opinion that numerous individuals within the inner circles of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong are not genuinely supporting them.
He claims that some of these individuals are motivated by financial gain.
In an interview with Dr Ren on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM UK, the politician stated that many of these individuals have surrounded Dr Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong in order to gain access to their campaign funds.
He lamented that several individuals running around the two main contenders in the January 31, 2026, presidential primary are doing so for selfish reasons.
“There are some people who have laced their boots behind Dr Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong waiting to be handed campaign funds so they will go and spend it.”
Wofa K noted that the supporters of the two contenders are exerting undue pressure, creating deeper cracks within the party.
He warned that if the situation is not addressed, it could lead to further divisions within the party after the presidential primary, prolonging their stay in opposition.
He emphasised the need for the party to resolve its internal issues to secure a win in the 2028 general elections.
Wofa K advised the two aspiring candidates to call their supporters to order so they will stop attacking and insulting each other, stressing that failure to do so will amount to indirectly endorsing these unfortunate incidents.
