The Prime Minister emphasized that Ghana’s dedication to democratic principles and inclusive development truly positions it as a guiding light for the entire African continent.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed his profound excitement regarding the national highest award bestowed upon him by President John Dramani Mahama. He described it as a deeply moving experience and an honor he would forever treasure.
Representing the 1.4 billion people of India, he expressed gratitude and dedicated the award to the lasting friendship and shared values connecting India and Ghana.
These remarks were made during his address to Parliament on Thursday, July 3, 2025, as part of his official state visit to Ghana.
He also mentioned his visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, where he laid a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah.
